Signing a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the Saudi Accreditation Center.
The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Accreditation Center (SAC) to develop bilateral cooperation in the field of accreditation assessment and enhance mutual understanding between the two sides. The MoU was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, and His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial affairs, Eng. Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salmah. The MoU outlines several areas of cooperation between the two parties, including coordination of conformity assessment activities for entities affiliated with the Ministry, ensuring that laboratories licensed by the Ministry obtain accreditation within the specified timeframe, and urging factories to obtain other accreditation certificates, such as inspection certificates and management systems certificates. It also includes cooperation between the two parties to benefit from the services of the Saudi Accreditation Center, including qualifying assessors from the Ministry, developing best practices and technologies that contribute to raising the efficiency of implementing the requirements of various quality systems among supervisory bodies, factories, and companies, in addition to any other area agreed upon by the two parties to serve the objectives of the MoU. The MoU was signed by the Advisor for Industrial Empowerment at the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Mazen bin Mohammed Al-Hamad, and the Executive Director of the Saudi Accreditation Center, Dr. Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Qaid.
